Unbridled's Song will make a strong gray showing in the 2009 Kentucky Derby, as a gray son and two grandsons (one a gray) fight the odds in the Run for the Roses.
Unbridled won the Derby garland in 1990 under the tutelage of Carl Nafzger and is the paternal sire of Unbridled's Song.
Dunkirk, this year's Florida Derby runner-up, and General Quarters sport the gray/roan coat of their father and grandfather, respectively, while Hold Me Back is a dark bay/brown maternal grandson of Unbridled's Song.

Seattle Slew was sired by Bold Reasoning and out of My Charmer. Weekend Surprise was sired by Secretariat--Lassie Dear.
Secret Status's dam was Private Status, by Alydar--Miss Eva. Alydar was sired by Raise a Native--Sweet Tooth. Miss Eva was sired by Con Brio II--Apolinea.
